Marketing Services works with University
Faculties and Services on the University's communications with
external audiences. Its six sections work together closely to
use their individual areas of expertise to ensure a cohesive and
professional approach and service, through:

Design and Print Unit (DPU)
The Design and Print Unit includes designers, dedicated print
room staff and a photographer. They offer a full design service,
produce major publications and a wide range of printing services,
from photocopying to full colour publications.
Graduate
Relations
Graduate Relations provide a range of services for the University's
former students, such as newsletters, merchandising and help with
re-unions.
Marketing
Communications
The Marketing Communications team is responsible for implementing
the marketing strategy throughout the publications, advertising,
new media and print that it produces. It works with Faculties
and Services to improve communications, providing advice on advertising
and looking at specific issues.
Market
Research
Market Research keeps track of trends that affect higher education
with a view to providing a clear strategy for future development.
This is supplemented wherever possible with original research
using a wide range of quantitative and qualitative techniques.
Press
Office
The role of the Press Office goes far beyond communicating with
the media - the Press Office also produces its own titles such
as Innovation, Agenda, News, Sports Focus and staffs.ac.uk. The
team is also responsible for the production of the University
News and produces publications for specific events. The work of
the team helps raise public awareness of Education Empire
Public Relations
Public Relations are responsible for organising the Chancellor's
Forum meetings, conferences, Professorial lectures and other key
corporate events. The team routinely liaises with organisations
throughout the area in order to encourage them to keep abreast
of developments within the University, and to participate in the
life of the University.
